Vitaly Ignatiev: discussions should be ended with practical results for the people’ benefit

The PMR Foreign Minister discussed the state of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch

Tiraspol, October 22. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A meeting of the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch was held at the Foreign Ministry. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Alexander Stetsyuk, and PMR Ambassador-at-Large in the rank of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ruslan Slobodenyuk, also attended the meeting.

Diplomats continued the discussion on the current state of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, which began today at a meeting with President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky. Vitaly Ignatiev noted that now there are a large number of problematic aspects requiring clarification accumulated in the dialogue between the parties.

“We do not support any actions that undermine confidence in the negotiation process, including the international 5 + 2 format, as well as approaches that ignore earlier agreements. It is necessary that our work be carried out within the framework of the logic of continuity of the negotiation process, and that discussions conclude with practical results for the benefit of the interests of people,” the PMR Foreign Ministry press service quotes the Minister.

During the conversation, a substantive exchange of views took place regarding the upcoming Bavarian conference on confidence-building measures, scheduled for early November. The Minister identified priority topics to be discussed at the expert level in each industry session at the conference. In this context, Vitaly Ignatiev informed the head of the OSCE Mission about the initiation by the Pridnestrovian side of eight meetings of expert (working) groups, which are desirable to be held before the start of the meetings in Bavaria.
