Tiraspol, September, 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The head of the PMR Official Representation in Russia Leonid Manakov, as delegation part of the Russian Compatriots International Council, took part in the 42nd United Nations Human Rights Council session in Geneva.
The PMR Foreign Ministry press service reported that in his speech, the head of the Representative Office appealed to the international community for developing cooperation with Pridnestrovie.
“Pridnestrovie is ready to establish interstate relations, socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts with the whole world. I am convinced that objectively there should be no barriers for this in 2019,” the diplomat noted.
Leonid Manakov recalled that in September of that year, Pridnestrovie has celebrated the 29th anniversary of its independence and the national referendum 13th anniversary, in which the Pridnestrovians for their state development independent path by an overwhelming majority.
“In the new millennium, a country that has existed for almost thirty years as an independent state cannot be deprived of legal right to be part of the world community. We are firmly convinced that the Pridnestrovie independence recognition should happen as soon as possible, and urge everyone who cares about the fate of peace and stability in Europe to hear the Pridnestrovie voice and our call for open and mutually beneficial cooperation,” the head of the Representation said.
At the end of his speech, Leonid Manakov said that Pridnestrovie was ready to be a reliable partner, open to trade, investment, tourism, as well as joint cultural and humanitarian projects.
