Moldova isn’t ready to solve issues on telecommunications and PMR international vehicle traffic

Tiraspol, September, 12. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At a meeting of the political representatives of Moldova and Pridnestrovie, the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev pointed out the lack of advancement in matters of telecommunications and the participation of Pridnestrovian vehicles in international traffic.

“Unfortunately, apart from constant excuses and stories that the Moldovan side is doing something, there is nothing, and today we have not heard anything new either. The obligations that Chisinau assumed under Protocol decisions are not being implemented,” Vitaly Ignatiev told the press.

The Minister stated that during the meeting, Pridnestrovie confirmed its position on the inadmissibility of restricting the operation of the mechanism previously agreed upon by the criterion for the presence of a driver’s license of the Republic of Moldova.

“The problem with the implementation of the profile Protocol solution for vehicles remains. There are certain proposals of the Pridnestrovian side, today we talked about them, but the Moldovan side is not yet ready to work in this direction,” the PMR Foreign Minister said.

Commenting on the results of the meeting with reporters, the head of the foreign ministry also noted that the Moldovan side recognized the existence of a criminal case in the unresolved political conflict between Moldova and Pridnestrovie. Nevertheless, the prospects for resolving the problem, according to Vitaly Ignatiev, are unclear.

“Today we were informed that there was a certain request to the Prosecutor General of Moldova, and perhaps that would move the whole process from a dead point. This is really important, as there are many criminal cases, and they interfere with freedom of movement, threaten the personal safety of our citizens,” the diplomat said.
