Tiraspol, August, 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The press service of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry said that PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev had met with the head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Klaus Neukirch.
Diplomats discussed current issues of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, and also paid attention to the situation with the development of a quarry in the Dubossary region of the PMR. In this context, Vitaly Ignatiev noted insufficient dynamics in the dialogue of the parties.
“Unfortunately, the situation in relations with Chisinau is not getting easier, and we are observing certain prerequisites for its deterioration. There are more and more problems, the topic of a quarry has now appeared on our agenda,” the Minister stated.
According to him, Pridnestrovie is aimed at solving all problems exclusively at the negotiating table and the final implementation of previously reached agreements. Also, Vitaly Ignatiev confirmed the intention of the Pridnestrovian side to hold the upcoming meeting in the “5 + 2” format as meaningfully as possible.
“We would like to avoid developing the situation in an uncontrollable way,” the PMR Foreign Minister added.
During the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev noted that the Pridnestrovian side was awaiting a response from the representatives of Moldova to the invitation to hold a meeting in the “1 + 1” format in Tiraspol due to the accumulating problematic issues that required urgent solutions. He also expressed hope for the intensification of meetings at the level of expert (working) groups after completion of internal personnel changes in the Republic of Moldova.
As the First Pridnestrovian TV channel previously reported, the quarry development dispute erupted in the Dubossary district between local gardeners and Moldovan entrepreneurs. On the previous day, representatives of the OSCE and the quadripartite commission of military observers came to clear up the situation.
