Tiraspol, July, 31. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. From August 1 to 4, the Romanian city of Pitesti will be hosting the world championship in kayaking and canoeing among juniors up to 19 years old and athletes up to 23 years old. The competition will be attended by rowers from sixty-one countries of the world, according to the website of the State Sports Service.
Athletes will start at distances of 200, 500 and 1000 meters in single sculls, kayak pairs and kayak-fours. Our republic as a part of the Russian national team will be represented by the pupils of the Tiraspol junior rowing and shooting sports school Danil Vetrov, who is declared as a member of under 19 years old, and Vladislav Chebotar of up to 23 years of age.
Danil Vetrov will perform at two distances - in single sculls (distance of 1000 meters) and as a member of the crew of a kayak-four (distance of 500 meters).
Vladislav Chebotar with his partner Ivan Likhovidov will perform in a carriage of a two-canoe at a distance of 1000 meters.
The opening ceremony was held today at 7 pm in the center of Pitesti.
