THE FESTIVAL TO COMMEMORATE VLADIMIR VYSOTSKY IN DUBOSSARY

Songs of the great bard, poet and actor sounded from the Energetikov Park stage

Dubossary, July, 21. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Open Republican Festival to commemorate Vladimir Vysotsky was held in Dubossary. The event was traditionally organized in the Energetikov Park, where fans of the great bard, poet and actor gathered.

Initially, the festival dedicated to the memory of Vladimir Vysotsky was held on the initiative of the Akkolada NGO and its ideological inspirer, writer and journalist Elena Stepanova. The press service of the Dubossary State Administration reminds that in 2015, the event received the status of a republican.

“Traditionally, many events take place in Pridnestrovie, they unite people and once again confirm our unity with the Russian Federation,” assistant to the President Vitaly Bondar noted. He expressed gratitude for the help in organizing the festival to Rossotrudnichestvo Federal Agency.

The coordinator of Rossotrudnichestvo projects in Pridnestrovie, Nikolay Zhuravlev, in turn, stressed that “the fame of the Dubossary festival has already gone beyond Pridnestrovie”.

“This project of Rossotrudnichestvo is supported by the government commission on the affairs of compatriots abroad, which works under the Russian Federation Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Therefore, this festival is well known in Moscow. Of course, Vladimir Vysotsky is a person of global scale, an outstanding poet, performer, thinker. And the fact that he is remembered throughout the post-Soviet space and beyond, is a confirmation that Vladimir Vysotsky lives in his poems and in our hearts,” Nikolai Zhuravlyov said.

On this day, Vladimir Vysotsky`s songs and author songs of participants sounded from the stage. The concert program was opened by a permanent participant of the festival, a true admirer of the poet’s works Boris Herman. The audience watched each performance with sincere applause. All participants of the festival were presented with souvenirs from the organizers of the event. After the concert program was completed, there was screened the feature film “Vysotsky. Thank you for Being Alive".
