DANIL VETROV`S CREW FINISHED SECOND IN JUNIOR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Athlete from Tiraspol won silver in a kayak-four at a distance of 500 m

Tiraspol, July, 14. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The European Championships in rowing and canoeing among juniors and youth ended today in Recice (Czech Republic). The competition was attended by teams from 35 countries.

The trainee of the Tiraspol sports school for rowing and shooting Danil Vetrov performed at two distances among juniors under 19 years old. At a distance of 500 m, the Russian crew (Vetrov - Barannikov – Ushakov - Maksimov) finished second, losing less than a second to the German rowers. Third place was taken by athlete from France. Athletes from the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Belarus, Portugal and Ukraine also made their way to the final.

In singles, at a distance of 1000 meters, Danil Winds took 4th place.

Recall that at the same distance in a canoe-pair Vladislav Chebotar became the champion of Europe among youth under 23 years old.

There is one medal in the Moldavian national team`s expense. Women's canoe-pair took silver at 500 meters. Daniel Kochi and Maria Olarashu have distinguished.

Canoeist from Bendery Arkady Goncharov, who plays for the Moldavian team, has just moved to the youth group this season. In the championship, he took the 6th place in the final "B" at a distance of 1000 m.

On the number of gold medals among juniors, the Republic of Belarus, Russia and Denmark are in the lead. Among the youth, there are Serbia, Ukraine and Russia in the top three.
