Tiraspol, March, 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today in the OSCE Office in Chisinau, there was held a meeting of expert (working) groups on environmental issues from Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova.
During the event, on the initiative of the Pridnestrovian party, a number of issues were discussed related to the provision and implementation of measures for the conservation and rational use of the aquatic biological resources of the Dniester River.
In particular, as the press service of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry informs, the experts of the parties made an agreed decision to synchronize of the terms of the ban on fishing in the Dniester River during spawning (from April 15 to June 15 of this year) and agreed to amend internal regulations.
The Pridnestrovian party emphasized the need to develop acceptable ichthyofauna parameters for the implementation of environmental flows on the Dniester River.
Pridnestrovian experts paid particular attention to the serious work carried out by the relevant departments of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the seeding in the river and called on the Moldovan party to carry out similar activities on a regular basis.
The parties summed up the implementation of the Protocol “On cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova in the field of fisheries regulation and rational use of aquatic biological resources of the Dniester River” and, taking into account the identified problems with the implementation of certain points by the Moldovan party, agreed to strictly follow the provisions of the document.
During the discussion, other environmental issues were also considered.
