Tiraspol, March, 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between of Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Alexandr Stetsiuk and Charge D’affaires ad Interim of Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Republic of Moldova Roy Hans, who first visited the republic with an official visit.
Welcoming the guest, Alexander Stetsyuk noted that Pridnestrovie has many years of experience in successful and fruitful cooperation with the countries of the European Union, and in this context confirmed the interest in starting system communication and increasing contacts with the Dutch side.
The deputy head of the diplomatic service also informed the interlocutor about the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, the PMR’s MFA press service reports. According to him, in recent years, a number of long-standing problems in bilateral relations have been resolved. At the same time, Alexandr Stetsiuk focused on the fact that Pridnestrovie is awaiting progress on other unresolved issues, primarily in the field of telecommunications, politically motivated criminal cases and passenger and cargo traffic.
In this regard, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR expressed the readiness of the Pridnestrovian side to intensify work at all levels of the negotiation process, as well as to hold the next meeting a meeting of the 5+2 format in the very near future.
In turn, Roy Hans praised the progress achieved at the negotiating table, noting that the agreements reached had a positive effect on people's lives.
The Dutch diplomat said that one of the priority goals of the recently opened Embassy of the Netherlands in Chisinau will be the monitoring and implementation of projects in the field of human rights.
In this context, Alexandr Stetsiuk noted that Pridnestrovie unilaterally recognized many international treaties and conventions in this area as framework norms of law. The diplomat also recalled the mission of Thomas Hammarberg, UN Human Rights Senior Expert in Pridnestrovie, whose recommendations served as a guide for the work of Pridnestrovian authorities in the human rights sphere.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working communication on the whole range of issues of mutual interest.
