ABOUT RECOGNITION, ABOUT NEGOTIATIONS AND PLANS. THE FOREIGN MINISTER OF THE PMR GAVE AN INTERVIEW TO ANNA-NEWS

Vitaly Ignatiev emphasized that the international recognition of Pridnestrovie costs the first point in the strategy of foreign policy

Tiraspol, March, 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev gave an interview to the ANNA-News Agency. The Minister of Foreign Affairs told journalists what bases Pridnestrovie has for international recognition.

«Pridnestrovie is fully and absolutely legal, the successor to the Moldavian Autonomous SSR, then MSSR. In the 90th years when the Republic of Moldova left the Soviet Union, Pridnestrovie made the decision to remain, and we created the statehood even during the existence of the Soviet Union. The first form was the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic. There is such stereotype that the Pridnestrovians are separatists, and it is a lie», - Vitaly Ignatiev emphasized.

The Foreign Minister of the PMR also noted that the international recognition of Pridnestrovie costs the first point in the strategy of the foreign policy.

«We are partially recognized state. We have interstate relations with sister republics – Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. We seek a finding of full-scale international recognition. As a basic element of protection of the rights and the interests of the population of the PMR. We have a multinational republic. It is absolutely free from nationalism elements that are observed at our neighbours», - the Minister told.

In Pridnestrovie, there are 3 official languages. Here people of 60 nationalities live, and never the conflicts on this soil arose, Vitaly Ignatiev noded.

Speaking about the negotiations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, the Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that for the last 2 years they became more active, and it happened so due to initiatives of the Pridnestrovian side.

«The President of the PMR took the initiative about the opening of the bridge through the Dniester River which long time was nonfunctional. And it is a safety zone, and this object is sensitive in terms of safety. Pridnestrovie was ready to open this object for car traffic under a guarantee of non-use it from the military point of view. Chisinau refused to give such guarantees for many years, but as a result in 2017 the Moldavian side agreed to give such guarantees and the legal decision was signed, and, in fact, this initiative laid the foundation for the social and economic and humanitarian agenda of negotiations», - Vitaly Ignatiev explained.

In the same the 2017th it was succeeded to sign 5 arrangements, important for the population, then next year 3 more. The diplomat reminded also the meetings which took place in the 5+2 format in Berlin, Vienna and Rome. There too legal decisions which fixed some provisions of the social and humanitarian agenda were signed.

«Actually we resolve with Moldova those issues which disturb normal life of ordinary people. These are questions of telecommunication and communication, freedom of travel and motor transport, these are questions of closing of motivated criminal cases which are opened in Moldova concerning the Pridnestrovians under the political articles, these are the questions connected with the need for development of the international mechanism of guarantees of implementation of decisions which are reached within the negotiation process», - the Minister explained.

It is also necessary to lift a limit for the supply of fuel on a northern branch line of PMR and to resolve other issues which have in practice a positive impact on the life of people, the diplomat considers.

«Dealing with these issues, we not so soon, but step by step approach positive result. We improve the lives of people, and it affects daily activity. We consider that any attempts to take away aside from this mechanism of dialogue extremely negatively can affect the current dynamics of the negotiation process. All international partners, first of all, the Russian Federation, consider that such tactics of work on the social and humanitarian agenda are the most effective. We consider that we need to continue negotiations in such format», - Vitaly Ignatiev concluded.
