Tiraspol, March, 13. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Government presented a work plan for the current year to the Investment Agency, which is administered by the Ministry of Economic Development.
Director of the agency Andrei Betanov said that in 2019 projects and ideas amounted to three global goals: implementing a policy on capital inflows, developing entrepreneurship and improving the business atmosphere, increasing the reputation of Pridnestrovie abroad, the government’s press service reports.
Andrei Betanov clarified that in the task list, the leading position would still be taken by turning the republic into an attractive place for investing private funds. This important point is intended to give the necessary impetus to a whole list of activities. In 2019, the next Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum will be held with the participation of domestic and foreign experts, analysts, businessmen. In addition, the promotion of our investment legislation in the regions of Russia and Europe will continue.
The promotion of Pridnestrovie’s opportunities in the international space will also be held due to participation in thematic conferences, exhibitions, development, publication and distribution of printed materials about our region, its potential, tax, labor and investment legal framework.
A separate block is interaction with investors who have shown interest in opening new productions on the territory of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. As Andrei Betanov emphasized, the agency is actively conducting 12 business plans. Among them, there are the freezing of fruits and berries, the cultivation of hazelnuts, the production of welding wire, refractory materials, anchor lining, shoes, graphite electrodes, dental implants, oils, processing of tires and slag. The latter, by the way, will be carried out with the use of MMP waste.
“At the moment, about one and a half million tons of slag have been collected. As part of this production, it is planned to process slag with metal scrap separation and its direction to projects in the road sector,” he said.
The total investment in a dozen announced projects is 45 million euros. All of them will open about 1,300 new jobs and provide tax revenues in the amount of $2 million per year.
Special attention will be paid to supporting young people. So, the position on stimulating private initiative was included in the program for this year.
Digital companies are showing great interest in Pridnestrovie. According to Andrei Betanov, they intend to organize IT parks on the territory of the republic and take engineering and technical faculty under their wing, doing personnel training.
“It is important to show young people, those who have business ideas, that it is real to go this way and get support from donors or from the state,” the Prime Minister said.
In this vein, meetings with them at the university site can be a real tool for attracting young people to talk about the range of opportunities that are provided for starting their own business.
In the structure, they will also deal with the tourism. Cities and districts of the republic will acquire recognizable tourist brands, informational panels should appear at the stops, and to facilitate obtaining information about Pridnestrovie they will develop a mobile application. It is important that the tourist product will be presented during the visits abroad and at home: it is planned to hold a tourism forum in Pridnestrovie.
In a series of priorities, there is the expansion of contacts with partners from the Russian Federation. There are prerequisites for attracting large organizations to the Pridnestrovian proposals. In this series, there are such reputable players as the Russian Export Center, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
The Agency will be involved in such areas as the investment projects development for solid household waste management, assistance in the digitization of state and economic processes, involvement of more young people in the volunteer movement, legislative mentoring.
