According to media reports, unloading of American military equipment began in the Romanian port of Midia, which was accompanied by 500 soldiers and officers. In addition to the M1 Abrams tanks, Bradley M2 armored vehicles, CH-47 Chinook, AH-64 Apache, UH-60 and HH-60 Black Hawk helicopters also arrived on NATO eastern flank. According to official information (Atlantic Resolve plan), units of the 1st USA infantry division are deployed in the region, which will be “registered” in the Black Sea area for nine months.
A whole series of international large-scale exercises will take place on the territory of the entire Black Sea region. In Moldova, such maneuvers are most often carried out in the training area near the village of Bulboaca, which is located in close proximity to the Security Zone of the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict.
The co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Pridnestrovie, Oleg Belyakov, in an interview with our correspondent reminded that earlier there had been incidents related to the violation of the Security Zone regime.
In particular, last year, in the course of the “Fire Shield - 2018” exercises, military equipment was transported through the Security Zone, and in 2015, the US National Guard units crossed the conflicting parties area partition.
According to Oleg Belyakov, in case of violation of the 1992 basic agreements, this issue will be raised at the JCC meetings.
“Pridnestrovie cannot but be alarmed about the possible emergence of foreign military equipment, including heavy one, in the Security Zone. We will be monitoring the situation closely” - Oleg Belyakov said.
