Tiraspol, March, 1. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The solemn opening ceremony of the Martisor-2019 culture and arts festival took place on the stage of the capital’s Palace of the Republic that evening. This is a traditional, first and loud chord in a multi-voiced creative symphony that will sound in all cities and districts of Pridnestrovie in the next 10 days. Within the festival numerous concert programs, meetings and exhibitions will be held. Not only professional, but also amateur teams will delight residents and guests of the republic with their skills.
Over the past years, dozens of creative teams and performers from different countries took part in Martisor. The chairman of the festival's organizing committee, honored cultural worker, head of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage, Maria Kyrmyz, reminded that the festival was intended to help preserve the folk traditions and culture of Pridnestrovie.
“This year we have once again prepared a rich and vibrant program. During all 10 days of the program you will find a large number of concerts, performances and exhibitions. You will become participants of Pridnestrovie, Russia, Austria and Moldova creative groups` concerts. The festival program is very extensive and will cover all cities and districts of the republic” - Maria Kyrmyz said.
Steadfast participant of the solemn ceremony of the Martisor festival is Honored Municipal Ensemble of Folk Music and Dance Vatra.
“All our dances and songs tell about the beauty and hospitality of Pridnestrovie, its fertile land, the hospitality of people who is living here. Today we present our best performances to the viewer, giving everyone a good mood” - Vatra choreographer Dmitry Stanev said.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselski handed the bouquet of flowers to the participants of the opening ceremony. Girls dressed in national Moldavian costumes distributed the main symbols of the Spring Festival - red and white Martisors to the spectators of the holiday.
Performances by artists from the Pridnestrovian State Choir, Bendery dance group Priteniya, Slobodzia ensemble Rhythmic Dance, quintet Liberty and others continued the concert program.
It should be noted that today the choreographic dance group Victoria has also performed in the capital's House of Folk Traditions and Crafts. On the stage of the Aronetskaya Pridnestrovian Drama and Comedy Theater there were two performances of the State Youth Drama Theater From the Roses Street from Chisinau. The first one was the musical tale “Sleeping Beauty” and a concert class of parodies of Russian and foreign pop singers “Starfall”.
Martisor-2019 will end on March 10 on the Palace of the Republic stage. The Pridnestrovian State Ensemble of Dance and Folk Music Viorica will perform at the closing ceremony.
