Tiraspol, January, 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Last year was marked by two records for Tiraspol police. The head of Tiraspol police department Sergey Kirman said about that, summing up the operational activities.
“The lowest crime rate and the highest percentage of detection in the last 10 years are recorded in the service territory of the Tiraspol police department. I also want to note that the Tiraspol Department of Internal Affairs is rightfully the driving force among the city regional bodies on the basis of operational and service activities for the third year in a row” - Sergey Kirman said.
According to him, in the past three years there has been a persistent decline in crime rates. In 2018, 1,209 crimes were registered, which is 13.2 per cent lower than in 2017, 88 per cent of crimes were disclosed, which is 8 per cent higher than last year.
The number of serious offences has significantly decreased - by 8.7 per cent and particularly serious crimes - by 20.4 cents. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that the rate of detection of these categories increased - 77.7 cent (74.9 per cent - in 2017) of serious ones, and 94.7 per cent (84.7 per cent - in 2017) of particularly serious ones.
In addition, there were 33.8 per cent fewer crimes committed in public places registered.
Last year, 39 road traffic accidents occurred in the service area of the Tiraspol police department, which is 20 less than in 2017. 4 people were killed as a result of the road accident. 40 people sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity (20 less than in 2017).
Interior Minister Ruslan Mova commended the work of the Tiraspol police, noting that there are still questions about the organization of the work of some services. Decision thereon will be made soon.
