Tiraspol, December, 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In the Diocesan Administration chaired by the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Savva, there was held this year final meeting of the Pridnestrovian representation of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society. This was reported on the Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese website.
“Today, the Pridnestrovian representation consists of 15 people. There were 5 meetings held in 2018. About 30 events were organized: round tables, exhibitions, meetings, presentations. Priority was given to events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the murder of the Russian Church first New Martyrs, the 100th anniversary of the royal family martyrdom, the 100th anniversary of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Fyodorovna tragic death. In addition, there were organized events dedicated to the anniversaries of Pridnestrovie temples” - Nikolay Dymchenko said.
During the meeting, there were considered candidates for membership in IOPS. It was decided to discuss them at the first meeting of the representative office in 2019, giving the candidates the opportunity to prove themselves during this time in the framework of joint work.
For 2019, the following main areas of activity of the representative office were indicated: Orthodox education, work with young people, development of sports and a healthy lifestyle, Orthodox culture and art, historical, archival, scientific and educational work.
For each area, curators from the members of Pridnestrovian IOPS representative office were assigned. Also, it was decided to make the information page of the Pridnestrovian representative office of the IOPS on Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese website in 2019.
At the end of the meeting, member of higher orders of clergy Savva wished those present a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas, and handed Orthodox icons and nunniform tokens with the image of the Holy Cross Church of Tiraspol, which next year will celebrate the 5th anniversary of its foundation.
