Tiraspol, October, 12. /Novosti Pridnestrovia/. The two-day Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum was completed. After all thematic sessions completion, the work done was summarized.
Session moderators positioned themselves in the Palace of the Republic Grand Hall. Experts of each thematic areas gave a brief comment and outlined key positions for development.
Yaroslav Romanchuk, the head of the Scientific Research Mises Center, was the investment session moderator.
“I read the law on investment support, which was adopted in your republic, beforehand. No doubts there are a lot of good positive dots. My colleagues from different countries keep asking me if such a law really applies” - Yaroslav Romanchuk admitted.
According to the Candidate of Economics the main purpose is to combine measures, so that conditions and rules were the same for everyone in reality.
“It is very important the investment forums were aimed primarily at Pridnestrovie region businessman, owner or creditor, so that everyone had right to vote and speak” – the expert pointed.
Yaroslav Romanchuk thinks, that trust between not only state and business, but also between business and state employees is a key factor of investment activities development.
As for the fiscal balance of the republic, it was dealt with separately during the forum. The thematic session was run by Ivan Uzun, acting dean of the economic faculty of Taras Shevchenko Pridnestrovie State University.
“Being state employee myself, I`m afraid of the term “budget sequester”. As an economist I understand, that current situation requires significant changes. Our session was focused on this situation analysis” – Ivan Uzun told.
The moderator noted, that the main message – changes will come gradually – was like a red thread through the whole discussion.
Meanwhile, the economy continues to recover. According to data provided by experts, for the last 9 months export growth reached 60 per cent. We do not lose markets. Deliveries geography is large enough – products of Pridnestrovie goes to more than 100 countries.
However there is another problem in this sector. There is a struggle for the domestic market, since domestic production takes only 35-40 per cent, the rest is being imported.
To enhance the work in the domestic market the project “Buy Pridnestrovian” was initiated. As pointed Yuri Ganin, the President of the Pridnestrovie CCI, today it`s too early to evaluate the results of trade fairs. In 2019 and 2020 businessmen would have another chance to come forward and introduce local production to the inhabitants of the republic.
Within the framework of Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum 2018 there was discussion about a window of opportunities for a young people, and also about the solution of the employment problem. There was separate session for the discussion of blockchain issues. By the way, this topic became to participants` taste, since during the session there were no seats available. Prospects for this sector of the economy development after getting acquainted with expert opinions from various countries of the world will be outlined in the Government.
During the forum 2018 participants also discussed social policy. Problems faced by people with disabilities and ways to solve them were discussed on a separate platform.
“It`s a real pleasure seeing our state socially oriented, despite difficult economic situation. And everyone noted that” – Nataly Bordan, the vice-chairman of Republic Charitable Foundation “World of equal opportunities” admitted.
Volunteers who helped guests throughout the Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum 2018 were particularly appreciated. At the end of the final discussion, the moderators made proposals for the introduction of live broadcasts at the future forum, and also to increase the time interval for one thematic session.
At the end of the event Alexey Tsurkan, the deputy chairman of the Government, thanked all the participants for their fruitful work, and handed letters of appreciation to the moderators, general sponsors and forum partners.
