Sergei Obolonik informed parliamentarians about the state of affairs in the energy sector

The head of the Ministry of Economic Development also spoke about the measures being taken to maintain the operability of the energy system

Tiraspol, January 10. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/.  As part of the plenary session of the Supreme Council, at which the state of emergency in the economy was extended until February 8, First Deputy Chairman of the Government - Minister of Economic Development Sergei Obolonik presented information about the state of affairs in the energy sector. Parliamentarians were informed not only about the events that were carried out in advance, but also about the measures that are being taken today to maintain the operability of the energy system, the government press service reports.

As is known, Pridnestrovie managed to form a natural gas reserve of 13 million cubic meters by the end of 2024, which is supplied to a limited number of socially significant facilities, as well as to apartment buildings. At the same time, Sergei Obolonik emphasized that the presence of gas in the network of multi-story buildings is fundamentally important, since when the system is aired, there are risks of man-made disasters. To eliminate them in such a scenario, the preparation of the system may take up to two months. Gas in the gas transmission network in this case is a technical element that will then allow blue fuel to be supplied to multi-story buildings within a short time without risks for residents. At the current level of natural gas consumption, Pridnestrovie will have enough resources until the end of January.

The situation in the electric power sector remains tense. The Moldavskaya GRES, which currently operates on coal, generates up to 130 MW for the needs of Pridnestrovie, and the Dubossary HPP generates up to 24 MW during the day. Starting today, Tirotex-Energo LLC, equipped with modern efficient equipment that produces up to 20 MW, has started generating electricity. Electricity consumption has to be promptly brought to the generation level. In this regard, the rolling blackout schedules have been repeatedly changed.

Sergey Obolonik separately focused on the work of industry during the emergency. By decision of the Operational Headquarters, production facilities included in a separate group of consumers are launched in night mode from 00:00 to 06:00. The exception is MMZ and Rybnitsa Cement Plant, which consume a large amount of energy. Their request cannot be satisfied at this stage.

The head of the Ministry of Economic Development called on domestic industrialists to take a responsible approach to the use of allocated energy resources, to fulfill their obligations to teams that must be preserved and provided with work and wages.

In turn, the state has made every effort to provide the sector that deals with the country's food security with energy resources. However, the current situation forces us to include it in the rolling blackout schedule. Some enterprises have managed to prepare and provide themselves with alternative energy sources, but others are at risk.

“We are trying to insure and provide assistance, but I would like to address the manufacturers and ask all economic agents to implement the necessary set of measures that allow them to be provided with heat and electricity in the production process,” the First Deputy Prime Minister noted.

In the gas system, water supply system and heat power engineering, the accident rate has returned to a manageable mode. In the power distribution system, the situation is extremely difficult. Especially against the backdrop of rolling blackouts. Despite the modernization of equipment, it is not easy to cope with the influx of emergency situations. The main problem is the lack of personnel. The staffing level is about 60%. For this reason, Sergei Obolonik called on all consumers to follow the recommendations to reduce the load on the power grid.

Until now, nature has been on the side of Pridnestrovie, but winter is taking its toll. Forecasters predict a decrease in daily temperatures, which may affect the balance that was achieved today. The situation remains under operational management.
