Tiraspol, 15 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The technical institute of the Pridnestrovian State University (PSU) of T.G. Shevchenko suggests to use geocement as material for repair of the Pridnestrovian roads. Inorganic mineral substances of ashes ablation of the Moldavian regional electric power plant (MREPP) can serve as raw materials for this production. The project was submitted by the director of engineering and technical institute Felix Burmenko during the working meeting of representatives of local authorities, the enterprises of road branch and the Ministry of Economic Development in Tiraspol.
"Our idea is not new. There are developed technologies and techniques in Russian Federal Road Agency. We can adapt the known technologies to our local conditions and local raw materials", - Burmenko has told.
Experts of PSU have studied the chemical composition of cindery waste of MREPP. They are an initial element for hi-tech material – geocement (geoconcrete) which inventions have begun in the USSR.
Geoconcrete is chemically inert in relation to many hostile environment and is steady against high temperatures and severe climatic conditions. Due to the excellent physical and chemical properties –fluidity, water resistance, etc. – geoconcrete can be widely applied in construction.
This material has well approved itself in Venice where it is used for restoration of buildings and cultural monuments in the conditions of high humidity.
According to Burmenko, experts of PSU have already carried out laboratory researches of geocement relating to conditions of Pridnestrovie.
The Minister of Economic Development Sergey Obolonik has asked heads of state administrations to conduct experimental works on particular areas and to estimate actual cost and possibility of usage of material.
