Vadim Krasnoselsky discusses JCC’s work with Oleg Belyakov

The Pridnestrovian co-chair of the JCC told the president about the existing issues and the main directions of the commission's work

Tiraspol, 15 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Vadim Krsnoselsky discussed the current situation with the Pridnestrovian co-chair of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), Oleg Belyakov, the president 's press service reports.

Oleg Belyakov outlined the current areas of the JCC's work, highlighting some problems and negative trends observed within the framework of the peacekeeping operation.

He drew attention to the manifestation by Ukrainian and Moldovan colleagues of a kind of "nihilism towards the Russian component". In addition, Oleg Belyakov told the president about the frequent cases of blocking military observers' inspection of the posts with the updated infrastructure.

According to Oleg Belyakov, the most significant obstacle today is a bridge across the Dniester in the area of Bychok and Gura Bicului villages. The co-chair described as conflictual the discussion of the organisation of the movement across it. One of the claims of the Moldovan side is based on the fact that Pridnestrovie is working on the improvement of a parking lot for vehicles in front of the bridge.

Vadim Krasnoselsky said that an increase in the allowable tonnage resulted in the number of lorries and long queues of cars waiting for entry to the bridge in the village streets.

"This convoy is creating difficulties for the inhabitants of Bychok village, which, after all, is unsafe. This is the reason for the initiative to allocate territory for a parking lot for passenger cars that plan to move across the bridge. It will not belong to any of the agencies, but it is necessary," stressed the president. He drew attention to the fact that it did not involve any expansion of the posts and terminals.

Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed Pridnestrovie's JCC members to continue upholding the country'stance, which is based on common sense and the interests of ordinary citizens. He stressed that the discussion and the work on the improvement of the parking lot should be conducted openly for all members of the Joint Control Commission and the "5 +2" format.
