Tiraspol, 1 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The German experts presented the Pridnestrovian president the results of their six-month work which aimed to analyse the state of the country's economy and budget, the president's press service reports.
Welcoming the delegation of Berlin Economics, headed by its director Ricardo Giucci, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that he had read the company’s report and suggestions. The president stressed, in the meantime, that it was important for him to hear the opinion of experts and discuss the prospects for the development of the Pridnestrovian economy in the course of a live dialogue.
Speaking about the country's economy, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that "in the process of development of our economy we face certain difficulties, but there are also achievements."
"Today, the Pridnestrovian economy requires additional sources of financing in the form of loans and other investments," said the president.
Having thanked Vadim Krasnoselsky for the meeting, Ricardo Giucci noted the constructive approach of the country's leadership to the settlement of existing problems.
He familirised the president with the main conclusions made by the German experts. They focused on the fact that budget expenditures in Pridnestrovie significantly exceed revenues, which in the medium term will inevitably lead to an increase in the budget deficit. The main share of expenses accounts for pensions, public education and health care. According to Ricardo Giucci, budget expenditures ammount to 56% of Pridnestrovie's GDP, while the revenue part is only 35% of GDP.
The experts also presented their suggestions to Vadim Krasnoselsky on increasing the efficiency of the Pridnestrovian economy and, in particular, the country's budget system. The prtesident noted that he highly appreciated the efforts made by the German experts, thanked for the work they had done and expressed hope for further productive cooperation.
