Tiraspol, 30 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. 2,500 new jobs have been created in the country since the beginning of this year.  The growth occurred in such areas as agriculture, light industry, small and medium-sized businesses, in which the number of patent-holders has increased by 991 people. This was stated by President Vadim Krasnoselsky during a press conference on the results of the first year of his presidency.

"15,000 jobs are a five-year objective. But there are some results even today. As of 1 October 2017, we managed to create 1,595 jobs in the country. 991 more people received an individual businessman patent. There are 2,586 jobs altogether. For example, 289 in industry, 240 in agriculture, 87 in transport, 2 in telecommunication, 60 in the construction industry, 427 in trade and catering, 50 in the IT sphere. These are real figures, which will be available to public," noted the president.

In addition, the president recalled that over 3,000 jobs had been preserved in Pridnestrovie. This refers to Moldova Steel Works (MMZ) and Pridnestrovian Railway.

Only through the efforts made by the government and enterprise managers, for example, was MMZ able to intensify its work, which had been deep in debt by the start of 2017.

"MMZ was already about to dismiss 2,500 workers, and only through coordinated work were we able to save the enterprise, which has now increased its output threefold. The enterprise is profitable. Rybnitsa is no longer a subsidised district. It pays for energy on its own, which has not been the case over the past few years. The labour collective has been preserved. There are prospects. It is because there are no [intermediary] schemes around the enterprise. The enterprise works with its customers without intermediaries. Everything is fair and transparent," noted Krasnoselsky.

As far as Pridnestrovian Railway is concerned, it has also become profitable since the elimination of a brokering company, although some time ago there were attempts to make us believe the opposite, the president noted.  As a result, Pridnestrovian Railway has retained its personnel of 600 people and increased profits.

"So if this trend persists, we will create the promised number of jobs," underscored the president.

Krasnoselsky pointed out there was a great demand for jobs in Pridnestrovie in such areas as light industry and instrument engineering.

In order to overcome the shortage of workers, the president proposed to create training centres at MMZ and the Odema factory providing technical secondary and higher education in a shortened system.

"Graduates of any profession should be demanded by our economy. This is understood by the government, Ministry of Education, PSU that this is the only correct way to develop our economy," concluded the president.
