Cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Czech Republic is substantive and consistent

During the meeting in the Pridnestrovie's MFA the sides discussed the opportunities for implementation of some joint projects in the social and humanitarian spheres

Tiraspol, November 15. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A meeting between the Foreign Affairs Minister Vitaly Ignatyev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in RM Zdeněk Krejčí was held in the Pridnestrovie's MFA.

Greeting the guest, Vitaly Ignatyev noted that cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Czech Republic has been substantive and consistent in recent years.

"Nowadays, important projects in the social, humanitarian and educational spheres backed by the Czech side are implemented in Pridnestrovie. I hope that we shall develop our interaction further. The Pridnestrovian side is open for this work," the diplomat emphasized.

During the meeting, Vitaly Ignatyev told the partner about some basic aspects of the current situation in negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova in detail, the Press Service of the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Ministry reports. As the head of the diplomatic service noted, an array of unresolved economic, social and humanitarian problems remained in the relations between the sides, that is the problems in the field of vehicular traffic, telecommunications and many other spheres which directly affect the interests of the Pridnestrovian citizens.

At the same time according to the minister, the lack of meaningful progress in settlement of these sensitive issues in 2017 is a result of low activity of the international participants of "The Constant Meeting …", predominantly of the acting OSCE Presidency which hasn't used the mechanism of meetings in the 5+2 format.

Vitaly Ignatyev told to the Czech diplomat that on November 14 the Pridnestrovie's side had received the invitation to the next round of "The Constant Meeting …" from OSCE. The minister hoped that all participants would effectively use that opportunity in order to give a necessary impulse to enable the negotiation process and to create conditions for further progress on the issues highlighted in the Berlin Protocol.

Also, the sides discussed the opportunities for implementation of some joint projects in the social and humanitarian spheres and expressed readiness to continue direct communication on the issues of mutual interest.
