Tiraspol, 26 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie counts on Russia's support in solving the problems of its compatriots, the Pridnestrovian vice speaker Galina Antyufeyeva said at a roundtable meeting “Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation of Russia and Pridnestrovie: New Prospects and Opportunities”, organised by Russia's Public Chamber.
"We count on Russia's support in solving the problems of its compatriots. This includes access to Russian citizenship, especially for the young guys who were born after 1992. And it is they who are to preserve the Russian world here," the Supreme Council's official website cites the vice speaker as saying.
According to Antyufeyeva, many young Pridnestrovians have to obtain Moldovan citizenship to be able to travel abroad. "And they want to be helpful to Russia," said the vice speaker.
She also raised the issue of applying the maternal capital programme in the PMR. Its application, according to Antyufeyeva, will allow young people to use these funds to purchase homes in Pridnestrovie, which means they will have an incentive to remain in their home country.
"The Pridnestrovians, citizens of Russia, have the right to the provision of high-tech medical assistance in Russia. This, however, has not been settled in Russian legislation," the vice speaker indicates another issue.
Besides, Antyufeyeva thanked Russian representatives for the implementation of humanitarian projects in the PMR under the auspices of ANO Eurasian Integration and expressed the hope that project would continue.
"We are entitled to Russia's assistance and support especially because 220,000 Russian citizens live in Pridnestrovie," concluded Antyufeyeva.
The roundtable meeting with the involvement of Russian public figures, State Duma members, as well as Pridnestrovian MPs, government members and NGOs, was held in Moscow yesterday.
The main topic of the meeting was the measures that should be taken to support Russian compatriots living in Pridnestrovie.
