Tiraspol, 16 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie's economic situation remains difficult as the country's government is making progress. This was said by the Russian presidential adviser on regional and economic integration, Russian academician Sergey Glazyev following a seminar held at the department of public and municipal administration of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The Russian expert praised the reforms conducted by the Pridnestrovian government.
"Nearly all the reforms we discussed during the seminar have proved to be efficient. First of all, this applied to an enterprise management reform — an HR revolution has taken place. New appointees are ready to work honestly, efficiently and to ensure transparency in asset management. Important measures have been taken to improve the regulation of industrial conditions," he noted.
Among the unsolved issue, Glazyev stressed the need of stabilising the exchange rate "as the economy and the budget are faced with passive balance of payments, which requires external funding."
In order to solve existing problems and further develop the Pridnestrovian economy, the Russian scientific community gave some recommendations.
"First, we advise the government to increase its activity in areas where there is not only a high added value but also a high intellectual component. Secondly, these areas of activity should not be very dependent on cross-border trade," said Glazyev.
According to him, if, along with introducing these methods, Russian partners lend their shoulder, “provide rouble investment, then it'll be possible to speak of a high balance and good opportunities for development.”
