Tiraspol, 2 September. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Republic Day has become a symbol of pride, patriotism and unity of Pridnestrovians for all of us, President Krasnoselsky said at a military parade dedicated to the country's 27th anniversary.
«Today we are facing major tasks to modernise the economy, state machinery. The country needs a modern system of administration and competent personnel capable of being able in crisis situations to resolve swiftly but at the same time clearly and precisely the tasks of improving the people's well-being. I'm convinced we can to strike a balance between the interests of the state, business and citizens. Only together will we make Pridnestrovie prosperous," noted the president.
The president specially thanked the republic's defenders.
«Thanks to you, the country survived in the most difficult war period. The Armed Forces are today the basis of our security and independence. They are a well-functioning body nurtured in the best traditions of Pridnestrovian patriotism. A trained and efficient army is a deterrent to many hot heads from neighbouring countries," Krasnoselsky believes.
The president emphasised Russia's role as the decisive factor in maintaining peace and ending the armed conflict in Pridnestrovie.
«I'd like to express special gratitude to Russia for the assistance support this great country has provided to Pridnestrovie. It is the Russian soldier who stopped Moldova's armed aggression against Pridnestrovie in 1992 and has selflessly preserved peace on our soil for over 25 years," said the president.
According to the president, today Russia and Pridnestrovie have the same assessment of the situation around the PMR, which makes it possible to influence it by minimising negative factors.
«The PMR is a country that consistently defends its choice for building an independent state and its subsequent accession to Russia. The people's will was expressed during a republican referendum in 2006, and there are no alternatives to this course. The Pridnestrovian people have always been famous for their persistence and industriousness. Thanks to the unity and consolidation of Pridnestrovians, the republic was established in 1992; we defended the republic persistently and courageously in 1992 and did not retreat even in the most difficult times. I believe that all the difficulties and tribulations have only strengthened our character.
