Tiraspol, 1 September. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, in pursuit of a peaceful, non-conflict existence, is making a significant contribution to the maintenance of the established security architecture in the south-east of Europe, said the president at a grand meeting dedicated to the 27th anniversary of Pridnestrovie.
He noted that this strategic stability was ensured not only through the high level of operational level of the Pridnestrovian Army, but also through the serious political, diplomatic and information support for the peacekeeping operation in the region.
Krasnoselsky referred to the increasing attacks on Russian peacekeepers by Moldova as «image damages and obstruction of the peace process.»
«The Constitutional Court's decision, a declaration by the Moldovan parliament and putting on the UN agenda the issue of the Russian military presence in the PMR are a cause for serious concern. The Russian peacekeepers are the guarantors of the Pridnestrovian security, so we pay increased attention to the strengthening of the peacekeeping mission on the Dniester," underscored the president.
He noted, in the meantime, the continued support of the main foreign policy ally — Russia.
«We have heard the response of our Russian allies, their active involvement in the strengthening of all components of the peacekeeping mission. This is confirmed by today's statement by Russia's foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, who has made it clear that those who wish to expel Russia from Pridnestrovie want Russia to fight either Ukraine or Moldova. In other words, it has nothing to do with the peacekeeping mission," said the president.
He also noted that the increasing pressure on the Russian peacekeeping mission was a matter of importance to the role played by our republic in maintaining stability in the entire region.
«The escalation of tensions around the peacekeeping operation emphasises Pridnestrovie's important stabilising role in the overall geopolitical context, including the maintenance of the strategic balance of powers in that region of Europe," underscored the president.
