It has not been a week since I published an article about Pridnestrovie's blockade. Pridnestrovie had been surrounded by enemies, and this situation needed to be addressed. Moldova and Ukraine would do everything to «spoil the life «of the freedom-loving republic. I did not deliberately touch upon another actor in this region — Romania. I just wanted to see what would happen in the US Congress. And it did happen…
So, facts first. The US State Department has made a decision to supply a $1.25-billion-worth missile system to Romania. What is it? Nothing but a continuation of the PMR's topic. And in the long run, this decision creates several new targets for Russia's Air Force. And this opinion has become the most popular today. «If a war happens tomorrow…» And if not? What if a war will break out tomorrow between Moldova and Pridnestrovie? Not even the war, but an escalation of the conflict?
What are our actions in this case? Anyone who is aware of the current situation understands that Romania will help Moldova in any case. Without «expressing concerns», but in deed. Including the deployment of its troops in Pridnestrovie. And Romanian weapons, supplied by Nato and the USA, will be directed at our citizens and the citizens of the PMR.
No wonder that now some readers will recall a five-day war with Georgia. «It's in the bag!» It is worth recalling one unpleasant fact which is not mentioned in our media. The Russian army did not fight in South Ossetia on 8 August 2008! Only people's militia and Russian peacekeepers. And the army was waiting for a command from Moscow. The first company came in only on 9 August.
It is a good thing that the brave, though poorly trained, Ossetians did not retreat. Nowhere and never. It is a good thing that the Russian peacekeepers did not retreat. Nowhere and never. Not a single Russian aircraft took off on 8 August… Only Georgian. Raided on civilians. The war was won again through the selfless courage of the Russian military and Ossetian militia…
I have recalled this episode to dispel the illusion of an easy decision to start a full-scale war. The decision that will touch us all. Someone will go into a real military hell. Someone will «pull in the belt». But no one will stand aside.
It is clear nobody wants such developments. At least, here and in «old Europe». Too much blood was shed quite recently by historical standards. And both politicians and military are well aware that the number of victims will increase tenfold. But we must keep in mind there is also a «new» Europe.
Our attention has been focussed on several countries until recently. Poland, Ukraine and Baltic countries. It is these countries that have brought up a generation which «has forgotten its history». It is these countries that employ Russophobia as a basis of their domestic and foreign policies. Ans it is these countries that are particularly favoured by the USA. Both former and present administration. Romania has been added to this list today.
I have already mentioned the most popular opinion among political experts and analysts. And among the military?
For the umpteenth time, probably, I argue that the main goal of the United States today is Russia. The Americans do not even dream of defeating Russia in an «open war». They understand perfectly well the power of the Russian army and realise that our commander-in-chief is very difficult to intimidate. A command will be given immediately. What then?
Syria and Iraq. But Russia is so successful in its military operation in Syria that the emergence of Russian troops in Iraq will be disastrous for the USA. That's why the Americans have to «wallow» there on their own. Most of the military cannot perceive the American activities in the Middle East today without a wry smile. The war for the war's sake… Simply speaking, a plan to fully «drag» Russia into the Syrian conflict has collapsed. Russia has not come to war, as was the case with Ukraine. More precisely, it did come, but the scale of this intervention is not enough for a «new Afghanistan».
Seems to me, the transformation of Romania into America's new pet, events in the PMR and Ukraine, in Poland and the Baltic states are links of the same chain. But with enviable persistence the American administration is trying to drag Russia into active hostilities. Russia must «perform the role of aggressor». Russia must undermine its own economy by war.
The USA is dreaming of «Middle East» on the European continent. In any region. Be it Ukraine or the Baltics. Be it Poland or Romania. In any case «Old Europe» will have to be drawn into war. Nato membership has not been cancelled. As well as obligations. And this is, like it or not, America's favourite and time-proven scenario. It is the first and second World Wars that made the USA a world power. That destroyed or absorbed most of the competitors. They need a new war in Europe. Only through seas of blood can restore the USA as the main power in the world.
It is clear that Moscow has already prepared an adequate response to the new threat. It is clear that the response will be tough enough. And Romania will also be a hostage in the event of a conflict. Moreover, it is clear that both Germany and France, not to mention much «weaker» countries, will do their best not to engage in a future conflict. But to which extent will their efforts be possible? Who is in charge of Nato troops? Who gives commands? Which country? Who will send Europeans to war?
The only unclear thing is why the European politicians and military cannot see it. How long can a string be drawn? Everything has its limit. Either the bow will shoot or the string will tear injuring the archer… There's no good in any case.
In conclusion, I wish to quote a Russian senator, Frants Klintsevich, who has written on his Facebook page. His post seems to confirm my point of view.
«So, the Americans are continuing to seek out problem regions in Europe in an attempt to bring the situation where possible to an open conflict and drag Russia into it. I have only one question to US allies in Europe: can't you see that the Americans are trying to turn our continent into a second Middle East?»
