Tiraspol, July 30. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Russian peacekeepers in Pridnestrovie protect the peace. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Russian President's envoy for Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin told it in his interview to Russia-24 TV channel.
«The peace cost much, there were dead among our military personnel, that's why the peacekeepers protect peace there (in the PMR — an editor's note). Anyone who will try to encroach on this peace will face the Russian peacekeepers first of all," he told.
According to Rogozin, there are much fewer of Russian peacekeepers now. If there were 3 100 of them, also 1 200 people from Pridnestrovie and 1200 from Moldovan side in the beginning, then now it is about 450 people that, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, is not a lot of.
«But our military personnel are provided with all necessary things: nutrition, drinking, outfit is made directly in Pridnestrovie. And as we have a huge number of our citizens there, we have an inexhaustible source for replacement with those who are ready to protect Pridnestrovie both from the Pridnestrovian armed forces and, of course, from our peacekeepers," Rogozin emphasized and added that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation effectively resolves all the issues concerning supply and will solve them in any situation.
As for the 5+2 negotiation format, according to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, it has established firmly and proves its value.
«Good or bad, but it is effective, and it doesn't have any alternative. The 5+2 format exists, the sides meet, special envoys work, and there are working groups dealing with this issue. Be the peace ever so bad, but it is better, than the war," he concluded.
