Vadim Krasnoselsky meets Hungarian ambassador to Moldova

Matiash Szilagyi noted that the economic ties of Hungarian enterprises with Pridnestrovie needed to be more intensive

Tiraspol, 28 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Vadim Krasnoselsky has met Hungary's ambassador to Moldova today. During the meeting Mátyás Szilágyi noted that Hungary was interested in the stable development of Pridnestrovie, its economy and, in particular, tourism, the president's press service reports.

"There are Hungarian enterprises with good economic ties with Pridnestrovie. These ties should be more intensive. There is required potential, but it is also necessary to create additional conditions for such interaction," said the Hungarian diplomat.

With regard to the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, Mátyás Szilágyi stressed that during a meeting of the "Permanent Conference..." in Berlin, which took place in June 2016, important agreements had been reached.

"The implementation of these agreements will benefit everyone. And ordinary people will only benefit from this," said Matiash Szilagyi.

"We have carried out a number of agreements. But there are no reciprocal actions on Moldova's part, and, above all, there is no desire to take such actions," said Krasnoselsky, recalling that on 30 March 2017, during a meeting in Holercani, he had proposed Moldovan President Igor Dodon to request the OSCE chairman-in-office, Sebastian Kurtz, to call a "5+2" meeting without any preconditions.

"Igor Dodon promised to think it over, but the request has not been sent so far. It seems that someone has decided to experiment this year and avoid meeting in the '5+2' format to see what will happen. This game will not have positive results. Any conflict can only be resolved through a normal negotiating process," underscored the Pridnestrovian president.

Vadim Krasnoselsky also congratulated Mátyás Szilágyi on the completion of his diplomatic mission in Moldova.

"We've had good contacts. I have always appreciated your contribution to the development of the relationship between Hungary and Pridnestrovie. You initiated numerous cultural events. Whatever your diplomatic destiny may be, we will be happy to see you in Pridnestrovie," said the president.

At the end of the meeting, Mátyás Szilágyi thanked Pridnestrovie and personally Vadim Krasnoselsky for contribution to preserving the historical memory of the Hungarian soldiers who died during WWII and are buried at the Military and Historical Memorial in Bendery. The Hungarian diplomat praised the efforts promoting cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Hungary and Pridnestrovie.
