Pridnestrovian President: Moldovan politicians annoyed at Pridnestrovie not losing heart

Vadim Krasnoselsky visited an international conference, The Russian World: Present and Future, and told about Pridnestrovie's choice and political treacheries by Moldova

Tiraspol, 21 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Despite provocations, threats and blockades, Pridnestrovie overcomes information isolation, offers political dialogue and is open to communication with the international community, Pridnaestrovian President Krasnoselsky said at an international conference, The Russian World: Present and Future, in Moscow. The Pridnestrovian delegation also included Supreme Council speaker Alexander Scherba, vice speaker Galina Antyufeyeva, head of the Central Election Commission Yelena Gorodetskaya and rector of Pridnestrovian State University Stepan Beril.

«Modern Moldovan politicians are very much annoyed that Pridnestrovie does not lose heart, that it fights, overcomes information isolation, returns constructive proposals for blockades and pressure, and offers serious responsible political dialogue in response to threats and provocations. Pridnestrovie is traditionally open to international communication; many partners understand the righteousness of our position and are ready to listen to us," said Krasnoselsky.

Thus, the president described his recent visit to Great Britain, paid at the invitation of the Oxford Union, where he made a report on the historical and legal grounds for the independence of Pridnestrovie. He raised that issue at the Moscow conference, noting that Pridnestrovie had the right to international recognition.

According to him, Moldova had made two political mistakes in its history. The first one was recognising Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact legally void, and the second the military aggression of 1992.

«Having made the strategic mistakes, Moldova is trying to find a way out of the current situation by compensating its mistakes for the so-called political treacheries. What are they? These are various restrictions, blockades, restrictions of personal rights and freedoms, politically motivated criminal prosecution, failure to comply with previous agreements, ignoring the very international mechanism of negotiation in the '5+2' format," said Krasnoselsky.

At the same time, the president said, paraphrasing Winston Churchill, that an artificial choice was being imposed on Pridnestrovie — either war, that is, a new round of armed confrontation, or dishonour in the form of political concessions against the will of the Pridnestrovian people.

However, Pridnestrovie prefers a third way between these two extremes, Krasnoselsky maintained. «It is based on the free and conscious choice of our people — independence in alliance with the great Russia!» he explained.
