Tiraspol, 23 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Vadim Krasnoselsky met Russia's ambassador at large Sergey Gubarev. Greeting the Russian guest, the president stressed that in the face of new challenges and threats it was essential for Pridnestrovie to know Russia's position as the peace and stability guarantor.
«I am glad our meetings and contacts have become regular. This makes it possible to harmonise our views and approaches to the challenges you've mentioned. Our common goal is to find a solution that would minimise the negative implications we have observed in recent weeks," noted Sergey Gubarev.
The meeting participants expressed confidence that a meeting of the «Permanent conference…» in the «5+2» format should be convened as soon as possible, the president's press service reports. The Russian diplomat said that the day before he had met Moldova's negotiator Gheorghe Balan and President Dodon’s adviser Vasilii Șova.
«I am impressed that they are in favour of an early official meeting. I think it's clear to everyone it is nearly inevitable, and it is unreasonable to delay it any longer. Sitting in the corners is not the best way to solve problems. And the problems are, unfortunately, piling up," said Gubarev.
According to the president, Pridnestrovie sees the need for an early «5+2» meeting and have addressed the OSCE chairmanship-in-office and all the parties to this format, but for the time being to no avail.
«Moreover, you say that the Moldovan side is in favour of organising such an official meeting as soon as possible. During our meeting on 30 March, we together with the Moldovan president, Igor Dodon, proposed to draft a joint appeal to the OSCE chairman-in-office. It seemed like President Dodon agreed, but things are right where they started. What hinders a joint appeal? It is necessary that the words do not displace the deeds," underscored Krasnoselsky.
