Moscow, March 20. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In the State Duma of the Russian Federation parliament hearings on the subject «About modern policy of the Russian Federation towards the compatriots living abroad». At the forum, Pridnestrovie is represented by the deputy head of the supreme legislative body of the republic Galina Antyufeeva.
Exercise of the right of all compatriots for the Russian citizenship in the simplified order and also an opportunity to study in Russia were among the issues for the discussion.
«Discussion of experience in support of the Russian compatriots living abroad by the state and society after 1991, their todays conditions and problems, improvement of the Russian legislation in development of protection of their rights and freedoms will be the main objective of hearings, and there's also a task to check the current status of the Program of Work with the Compatriots Living Abroad during 2015−2017," it is emphasized in the press release.
Speaking at the forum, the vice speaker of the Pridnestrovian parliament Galina Antyufeeva noted that the problem of compatriots is one of the most important problems for the Russian state, the leaders of the country, the MPs and the public. It is so, because the Federal Target Program of Work with the Compatriots Living Abroad during 2015−2017 was widely implemented, for instance in Pridnestrovie.
«However, unfortunately, I have to note that we used the available resources to make better planned and system work on supporting and helping our compatriots insufficiently. There is no general strategy which will include interinstitutional and interindustry forms of interaction and also cooperation with institutes of civil society supporting the citizens abroad yet," Antyufeeva states.
Also, a number of the offers directed to promote the work with foreign compatriots was also voiced.
In particular, the representative of Pridnestrovie offered to grant to the Russian compatriots living in the republic a right to receive the Russian citizenship without renunciation of their other available citizenship, to allow examination in Russain language and Russian history for the citizenship applicants in the territory of the consular center in Tiraspol, to remove the requirement of full-time residence in the territory of the Russian Federation and to allow submission of the application in the place of constant registration in the PMR.
«The today's hearings confirm that new challenges and urgent tasks mainstream the importance of amendments to the legislative base and also to the general strategy of support of compatriots abroad. These are not only the issues of country's image, but also positioning of Russia as modern civilized state," summarized the Pridnestrovian member of parliament.
