Tiraspol, December 27. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation expects that the elections of 2016 on the both banks of the Dniester (presidential elections in Pridnestrovie and in Moldova — editor's note) will have positive influence on the further Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement process. It is stated in the final report of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
At the same time, return of Moldova and Pridnestrovie to the negotiating table and renewal of meetings in the 5+2 format had become the main task of the last two years which was realized by the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation in 2016.
Also, it is emphasized that the sides (Moldova and Pridnestrovie — editor's note) discussed the most sensitive issues of the agenda during formal contacts in Germany in June and July.
