Economic Development Minister: Pridnestrovie's economy recession rates become slower

According to Dmitry Boltrushko, this year the republic will manage to reach the crisis bottom

Tiraspol, May 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Falling of the Pridnestrovie's economy continues, but not at such rates any more. According to the Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Boltrushko, it is apparent from the macroeconomic performance of the first quarter of this year.

«It shows falling, but recession rates aren't such as they were in 2015 any more. I think that within the current year we will manage to test the bottom," he told during the Vovremya. Itogi TV show on the First Pridnestovian.

World economy trends including a certain increase in prices for some types of raw materials bring hope for it.

«What does it mean for Pridnestrovie? It concerns the rolled steel: we see a tendency to the price growth that will make a positive impact on the activity of the Moldova Steel Works, however there is still a large number of problems. The Russian ruble is less exposed to devaluation shocks, upsurges. That's why we hope that this situation will allow us to and also all other countries to reach a new balance in economy," the Economic Development Minister noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that, among the major tasks of our economy, there is an issue concerning the Pridnestrovie's national currency rate.

«Without involvement of third-party experts (as the estimates of the PRB and the Supreme Council differ), it will be rather difficult here, of course," Dmitry Boltrushko told.
