Tiraspol, April 21. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A meeting between the Pridnestrovie's Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev and the delegation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Signe Burgstaller was held in the Foreign Ministry, the Pridnestrovie's MFA Press Service reports.
The sides discussed a number of topical issues of bilateral interaction including the social and humanitarian and educational spheres. Signe Burgastaller told that Sweden is ready to provide financial support to a number of the projects implemented in Pridnestrovie by the UN system organizations in the sphere of protection of the rights of people with disabilities, assistance to women in crisis situations, as well as to provide services to HIV/AIDS-infected persons.
During the meeting, Vitaly Ignatyev told about the current situation in the relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. The Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister emphasized the slow pace of interaction between the sides which is maintained regardless of calls and recommendations of the mediators and observers in the 5+2 format negotiation process who had visited Chisinau and Tiraspol on April 5−6 of the current year. The diplomat reminded that on a negotiating table there was a number of harmonious and sustainable proposals of the Pridnestrovian side in such pressing issues as road transport, freight railway communication, regulatory and document support of citizens, but it is impossible to start working on them due to «the RM’s unreadiness to substantively negotiate with Pridnestrovian colleagues”.
At the end of the meeting the sides agreed to maintain direct contacts on matters of mutual interest.
