Tiraspol, 22 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Yevgeny Shevchuk has signed a decree «On establishment of the State Interagency Commission to check the observance of the PMR's legislation upon the import of excisable goods, meat and meat products».
This decision has been taken in connection with allegations made by some lawmakers, including in some commercial media outlets, and aims to depoliticise monitoring activities and dismiss provocative speculations that may follow.
The commission includes the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, KGB, Investigation Committee, Ministry of Finance and the Audit Chamber. The Prosecutor of the PMR has been appointed commission chairman.
The commission is charged with determining the volume of the import of excisable goods, meat and meat products to Pridnestrovie, monitoring the observance of the current legislation while clearing import goods through customs, and revealing the amount of actually paid customs duties, excise fees and other compulsory payments in the period from 1 January 2006 to 1 March 2016.
The president has instructed the commission to analyse the legal foundation of legal acts lowering compulsory customs payments or exempting business entities from such payments upon the import of excisable goods, meat and meat products to the PMR in the period from 1 January 2006 to 1 March 2016.
«All public authorities possessing documents, papers and information on violations of the Pridnestrovian customs legislation upon the import of excisable goods, meat and meat products to Pridnestrovie are to immediately provide the corresponding information with supporting documentation to the commission chairman," reads the decree.
