CCI planning to organise structure to analyse trade turnover

According to the CCI president, Yury Ganin, such analysis will benefit businessmen who may participate in an import substitution programme

Tiraspol, 14 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) is planning to form a consulting company to analyse trade turnover and help Pridnestrovian businessmen to obtain information on a domestic demand and supply structure. The CCI president, Yury Ganin, voiced this intention today at a meeting of the president and prime minister with businessmen.

«The problem is we do not have clear understanding what is imported to Pridnestrovie and what are the volume and price of imports. These statistics are collected by the State Customs Committee, but these figures should also be systematised under the categories of commodities," said Yury Ganin in an interview with Novosti Pridnestrovya.

«We need a certain body which will carry out marketing research. This may be a consulting company or any other form of organisation. It does not need necessarily to be related to state-run organisations," he noted.

The CCI president believes that the turnover analysis will enable Pridnestrovian businessmen to develop their businesses based on domestic market demands.

«This will provide opportunities for making good business plans, for launching new businesses and, in general, is the first step towards the construction of an import substitution system," argues Yury Ganin.

He also noticed that «such a marketing or consulting company» may appear in Pridnestrovie this year.

«Now we are looking into organisation issues, such as software, how to process statistics, which monitoring system to use, what experts we are in need of," he said.
