Joint exercise of Moldovan and U.S. armies was held on the training ground of the Beltsy I Mechanized Infantry Brigade on July 15 between 9:30 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. As the SP independent newspaper of Beltsy reports, about 100 troops of the Moldova's National Army and the U.S. Army took part in the gunnery practice. They used the standard 120 mm mortars of the Moldovan army and the U.S. Army; firing distance was 900 meters. Night practice was held within the Efort comun 2015 (international military exercise) in Beltsy between July 12 and July 25.
As the officer responsible for the maneuvers, commander of the I Mechanized Infantry Brigade colonel Vyacheslav Rusu told, about 800 Moldovan, U.S., Polish, Romanian and Georgian troops. Their purpose is to share experience between the Moldovan and foreign armies and to hold joint firing practice with the use of artillery systems and small arms. Participants master skills of joint military maneuvering.
