Grigory Karasin: Russia hopes that Moldova will take up a more flexible station in regard to the peacekeepers

The State Secretary, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin declared that Russia counts on more flexible and constructive position of Moldova on the issue concerning the situation in Pridnestrovie and Russian peacekeepers' staying there

Russia hopes that Moldova will take up a more flexible station in regard to the Russian peacekeepers in Pridnestrovie, the State Secretary, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told to RIA Novosti.

At the beginning of June, Ukraine denounced a number of military treaties with Russia, including the Russian military transit to Pridnestrovie through the Ukrainian.

«We've recently discussed in detail all issues concerning the situation in Pridnestrovie and around it with the Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister on Reintegration Victor Osipov who has visited Moscow and met with Dmitry Rogozin. He has also visited our Foreign Affairs Ministry. We've informed Osipov of all of our concerns about Pridnestrovie, our peacekeeping operation and a number of other aspects," he told.

According to Karasin, he had a feeling that the Moldovan side understood our concerns, and attended to our difficulties in Pridnestrovie».

«And we count that their position will be much more constructive and flexible due to the fact that there's still no government and that tensions from Ukraine are still fueled. In other words, our partners in Pridnestrovie are in very difficult situation," the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister added.
