The drill objective is to improve staff's skills in Dragunov sniper rifle (SRD) handling, choosing a battlefield position, target scouting.
Specialists acted as a part of a sniper group and a TOE unit, showed their skills and mission capability, the Defence Ministry Press Service notes.
«A distinctive feature of sniper firing practice is that a sniper specialist is given an opportunity to scout the targets and assess their importance based on the scouting data, and hit the target with a first shot. We had a task to assess the professionalism of snipers and their combat readiness as a part of TOE units," lieutenant-colonel Alexander Krasnyanchuk told and added that firing practice was held both in the afternoon, and at night.
