According to the Omega news resource, Moldova's constitution court may «change the agenda» with regard to the neutral status of the state stipulated in its constitution. That was announced by the chairman of the constitution court, Alexandru Tanase, with reference to neighbouring Ukraine.
«In May the constitution court of Moldova will consider to what extent the status of permanent neutrality is responsive to current challenges in the event of external military threat," said Tanase at a scientific conference in Suceava.
This statement by Alexandru Tanase continues military rhetoric of Moldova's President Nicolae Timofti, who called the constitution «imperfect» and urged to refuse the constitutional neutrality.
