Almost every false piece of information in mass media or social networks has political or economic reasons, Yevgeny Shevchuk told during the live broadcast. He expressed his concern about the today's situation on the media scene of the republic and noted that there was a lot of disinformation. «There is a lot of fables and false, we can trace the activity of some so-called social activists who want to discredit all positive things, but, at the same time, they place all negative things on their flags," he noted.
According to the Head of State, all this illustrates the application of certain political strategies; certain political and economic groups use them for their own benefit. «There are many political issues showing that it's necessary to change the power structure in order to restore the former economic flows, or to establish the new ones," Yevgeny Shevchuk told.
For the avoidance of all-permissive policy shaped as the media freedom, we need stricter rules of «the game» on our media scene. After all as sets an example of many countries, defeats in information war often lead and to serious losses in political, social and economic and other fundamental spheres of activity of the state.
In particular, it is necessary to establish the liability for slander and insult at the legislative level in respect of the state authorities in general and republic's citizens in particular. According to Yevgeny Shevchuk, the relevant bills have already been evolved and will be submitted for the Supreme Council's consideration in the nearest future.
Generally speaking about the information security, the President noted that there were certain omissions in this system, mostly caused by the lack of resources. «Unfortunately, we have no information security taking into account the fact that considerable media resources of the neighboring states work against us. And also we should keep in mind that, without any explanation, the parliament actually worsened the information security not providing the media with proper supplies," Yevgeny Shevchuk told.
