Problems with foreign currency purchase in banks are caused by the difficult political and economic situation in the neighboring countries
The national currencies devaluation in Russia and in the states neighboring Pridnestrovie put considerable psychological pressure upon the citizens of our republic. That is why people purchase USD as much as possible fearing the Pridnestrovie’s ruble fall. At the same time, according to the Pridnestrovie’s experts, such scenario is improbable.
«The population should trust Pridnestrovie’s ruble. There are no reasons to expect its devaluation. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing the foreign currency for the future now," the deputy chairman of PRB Vadim Stepanov noted during the new talk-show of the Pridnestrovie’s First Сhannel named «The Economy in Details».
The deputy chairman of PRB answered the question concerning the reasons of cash currency deficiency in the exchange offices and marked out the dollar-frenzy among individuals and the reduction of currency incoming from the population working in other states.
Besides, according to him, the republic wouldn’t have such foreign cash deficiency if the businesspeople made the purchases abroad with non-cash payments.
