The Victory Banner was raised on the main square of the Pridnestrovian capital

The 80th Spring of Victory is marching across the world. Every corner of Pridnestrovie is celebrating the anniversary of the victorious end of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 for the Soviet people. Cities and villages are decorated in the colors of the St. George ribbon, scarlet banners and lilacs. Black and white photographs of front-line soldiers and yellowed triangle letters from the front are on their bright background.

Victory Day is a national and state holiday. The official part of the celebrations with the participation of the country's top officials begins on the main square of the capital, which bears the name of the great commander Alexander Suvorov. Servicemen of the Honor Guard company, the orchestra of the PMR Armed Forces General Staff, parade crews of law enforcement agencies are at the flagpoles. The official delegation headed by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived to participate in the solemn ceremony of raising the Victory Banner. The Pridnestrovians pass this tradition from generation to generation, preserving the memory of its origins. The Victory Banner was named the assault flag of the 150th Order of Kutuzov, 2nd degree, Idritsa Rifle Division, hoisted over the Reichstag in May 1945. The Pridnestrovian people were presented with an exact copy of the historical canvas in 2014, which is carefully preserved. The Victory Banner soars into the peaceful Pridnestrovian sky to the anthem of the Soviet Union. This tradition is also unchanged.
