Tiraspol, 17 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During their previous meeting, Pridnestrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky had instructed the rector of Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University (PSU) Stepan Beril to prepare information on the situation in the field of professional development of workers in various sectors of the economy, as well as provide a list of research topics conducted by PSU researchers. Today the rector has provided the requested information to the president, the president's press service reports.
According to Stepan Beril, some of the research results of PSU labs are already being used in various fields, and some of them are being implemented now.
Having studied the information provided, Vadim Krasnoselsky drew the rector's attention to the need for the appropriate correlation of the number of fundamental and practical research, stressing that the latter should be given priority.
"When approving the topics of applied research, one should clearly understand who their customers are and in which branch of the national economy the results of such studies will be used," said the president.
The president called on the rector to interact more intensely and informally with the ministries and departments which order scientific research.
