Tiraspol, 12 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC) was held today to announce the results of the presidential election in Pridnestrovie. As we have informed, Vadim Krasnoselsky gained the majority of votes. He was supported by 62.3% of voters.
Having announced the election results, the chair of the CEC gave the president-elect the credentials of the president of the PMR. Then Vadim Krasnoselsky responded to questions asked by local and foreign journalists.
Journalists were interested in the first steps Krasnoselsky was going to take as the president.
«These steps will aim to stabilise the vertical of state administration. [They will be aimed] particularly at the consolidation of the branches of power and the president. And of course, at ensuring the openness of fiscal relations, the transparency of fiscal relations," said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The president-elect also said he was going to discuss a number of important issues for Pridnestrovians but solely on the basis of Pridnestrovie's independence. Besides, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, joining the Customs Union would be a good prospect for the republic.
«[It is] exactly the integration of the Pridnestrovian economy into the Russian economy, Eurasian integration and the Customs Union. This will facilitate conditions for the conduct by our entrepreneurs of their business operations, their foreign economic activities. These are our goals. I personally discuss as a presidential candidate, as the chairman of the Supreme Council these specifics of Russia's legislation, the introduction of bills by Russia's State Duma members. We are already working in this direction," the president-elect underscored.
Answering a question about a candidate for the chairmanship of the Supreme Council, Vadim Krasnoselsky said that MPs would decide it by themselves, but in his opinion, it would be a decent person.
Besides, he underscored, the date of the inauguration ceremony would be announced soon.
