Bendery, November 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Despite the fact that, at the meeting with residents of Bendery at school No.16, the Head of state noted that he didn't intend to discuss elections, citizens couldn't but asked the President some questions concerning the current election campaign.

One of the residents complained that there were leaflets with offensive contents in all mailboxes in an apartment house where she lived. In them it was said that she allegedly receives money from one of candidates. The woman asks to help to find guilty of this act.

«When someone is offended unfairly, it is wrong in terms of morals. Everyone writes anything he wants, says anything he wants, however very few of them are held responsible for that. According to this, I consider, we have to amend the legislation and to upgrade punishment for such actions," Yevgeny Shevchuk noted.

The Head of state also reminded that there's no liability for defamation in the Pridnestrovie's Criminal Code. For it, citizens may be incurred only administrative liability only.

«I don't say that it is necessary to curb freedom of speech, but when there isn't freedom of speech, but anarchy sometimes, it is bad also. That's why I'm ordering to search all violators," the President of PMR emphasized.

«The legislation should be amended, including the electoral one so that it encouraged competition of ideas. It is necessary to circumscribe the rights of the deputies, including their financial capacities interfering in the elections. We have unequal access to the voters," the Head of state considers.

Besides, Yevgeny Shevchuk told that law enforcement authorities tighten security from tomorrow. As follows, police officers will protect the largest voting stations on the Election Day. Also, Yevgeny Shevchuk encouraged citizens who know something about any violations to report about it to the law enforcement officers.
