Tiraspol, March 1. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Representatives of the United Nations (UN) arrived in Pridnestrovie to get acquainted with the work being carried out in the republic to assist foreign citizens arriving from Ukraine and forced to temporarily stay on the territory of the PMR, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports. The department hosted a meeting between the head of the Operational Headquarters Vitaly Nyagu and the UN delegation.
More than 4,500 people who arrived from Ukraine found temporary accommodation on the territory of the republic. Some made their way to other states. Most are still in places designated by the Operational Headquarters for resettlement with relatives, friends, or even strangers.
“Helping others is something lodged within Pridnestrovians` nature. This is every citizen's free will and sense of responsibility. Those who historically lived and currently live in the territory of Pridnestrovie have always been famous for their hospitality, openness, and lack of hostility,” Vitaly Nyagu noted.
Representatives of the United Nations highly appreciated the work of the Operational Headquarters.
The delegation also visited Solnechny health center, where the guests looked at the dining room, living rooms, and talked with the guests. Director of the Ministry of Internal Affairs` health center Alesya Shevchuk said that all visitors were provided with good food, an entertainment program was arranged for children.
