Tiraspol, March 13. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. On these days Moldavian free-style wrestling championship is taking place in Chisinau. The first result to the Tiraspol wrestling and boxing school was brought by Gennady Dyuvenzhi in the weight category 57 kg. The Pridnestrovian freestyle wrestler successfully conducted 5 fights and became the winner.
The gold medal grants the right to go to the European Championship among athletes under 23 years old. At the end of May, the Old World Championship will be held in the Macedonian Skopje city.
“Gena has already competed at the European Cadet Championship. We have high hopes for him, because he produces good tournament results. Moreover he’s also a medical student and trying to combine his studying with trainings and for all that he shows the following results. He strives to properly represent our school on the European arena. However, honestly speaking, we haven’t yet known whether he will be able to go there. At that moment we are looking for sponsors, because everything it’s just a matter of finances. The Moldavian federation is unlikely to support us,” the director of the Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve for wrestling and boxing Alexander Shemetov commented on the situation.
Under the strict guidance of such capital preceptors as Andrey Podsevalnikov and Konstantin Bogaty, Gennady Dyuvenzhi will begin preparations for his key сompetition, the European Championship.
