Tiraspol, November 17. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Mikhail Burla and the deputy of the Committee on Economic Policy Alexander Korshunov met with the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Affairs, Eurasian Integration and relations with compatriots Umakhan Umakhanov.
This is the second visit of a Russian parliamentarian to Pridnestrovie. During the meeting, the participants discussed a broad range of issues, the parliamentary press service reports.
“There are a lot of questions. Thanks to the deputy corps and thanks to Alexander Viktorovich personally, we manage to discuss many issues on our platform in the State Duma, in the Committee for CIS Affairs, as well as in parliamentary fractions. Today, we discussed what is connected with COVID-19, isolation, and many other issues, that have additionally arisen in this regard in Pridnestrovie. We are discussing all these issues in our Сommittee. As far as possible, we raise them in the State Duma, the Government, the Presidential administration and try to solve them,” Umakhan Umakhanov, the Russian State Duma deputy noted.
At the meeting, Pridnestrovian deputies talked with their Russian counterpart about the simplified procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship, and also discussed the possibility of providing Pridnestrovie with humanitarian and technical assistance, including loans for the development of the real sector of the economy.
Another theme of the inter-parliamentary dialogue is moneyed assistance, which, according to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, should be received by all veterans of the Great Patriotic War and persons equated to them living in Pridnestrovie.
“Of course, we raised the issue of rewarding our veterans of the Great Patriotic War. They should receive certain payments, but meantime these payments haven’t been proceeded to us in the republic. Russian parliamentarians have promised to find out in the executive authorities of the RF, the reason of delay, and to help resolve this issue as soon as possible,” the deputy of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov stressed.
At the meeting, they talked about work and cooperation during a pandemic, about the necessity of establishing electronic communication equipment. In March this year, an exhibition dedicated to Pridnestrovie was planned at the State Duma, but due to the pandemic, the project hasn’t yet been implemented.
“The project hasn’t been canceled, it has been postponed for a certain period of time. As soon as the situation will be more positive, I think that the exhibition about Pridnestrovie at the State Duma will be implemented,” Alexander Korshunov expressed confidence.
We remind that the exhibition in the State Duma of Russia will be of an informational character. There it is planned to tell not only about 30 years of cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Russia, but also about the relation between Pridnestrovie and Russia since the time of Catherine II, about the traditions, spiritual and cultural potential of the republic. A large section will be devoted to the investment potential of Pridnestrovie, its economic opportunities. It is planned to place about 14 large banners at the exhibition. Each of them will send a certain informational message, starting with the symbols of the state and ending with the spiritual and cultural tradition of our region.
